It’s a huge honour for us at de Novo Solutions to have been shortlisted in three categories at this year’s Global Business Tech Awards. As a business, we’re among the finalists for both ‘Most Impressive Growth’ and ‘Small Tech Company of the Year’, while our Founder and Chief Executive, Mark Sweeny, has separately been shortlisted for ‘Tech Entrepreneur of the Year’. This recognition stands as a testament to our dedication to innovation and excellence in the tech industry.
Launched with a clear vision to transform the world of digital transformation, specialising in providing solutions for Finance, Procurement, HR, and Payroll, we stand as the only SME organisation in the UK to simultaneously harness the power of Oracle Cloud and ServiceNow technology. Furthermore, as Oracle’s exclusive Welsh cloud partner, we are deeply committed to the growth of the Welsh tech sector and the support of our local community.
Being recognised at the Global Business Tech Awards comes as a huge validation of all the hard work that has gone into making de Novo the success that it is today. Since Mark established the business in 2021, our headcount has risen to 53 – and is set to reach 62 by the end of May – demonstrating our impressive level of staff retention, driven by our employee-led approach and commitment to personal development. Moreover, the financial performance achieved under Mark’s leadership speaks volumes about the effectiveness of our offerings and the promising trajectory of our business.
A large part of this success can be attributed to the pioneering industry cloud initiatives that we’ve led for Local and Central Government, Secondary Education and Healthcare sectors. Through Odyssea™, powered by Oracle Cloud and ServiceNow technologies, we’ve introduced groundbreaking strategies and data-driven personalised experiences to optimise operations within these sectors. Our Value as a Service™ managed service offering, meanwhile, complements our suite of solutions by providing continuous innovation, end-to-end managed service support, and robust analytics for tracking digital transformation impact. Through the delivery of these cutting-edge products and services, we remain committed to driving innovation and delivering tangible results for our clients. The increasing recognition and demand for our unique offerings within these sectors reaffirm our standing as leaders in driving positive change and optimising operational efficiency.
Besides supporting our clients in tackling the challenges that they face, we’re proud to be playing our part in addressing the skills shortage across South Wales. According to a report by the Open University and the British Chamber of Commerce, two-third of businesses across Wales face severe problems related to talent acquisition. In response to this issue, we’ve launched our very own Degree Apprenticeship Programme, in partnership with the University of South Wales, and with funding from the Welsh Government and promotion by Coleg Gwent. Through our investment in young talent, we’re not only supporting the next generation of tech entrepreneurs and specialists, but also gaining access to fresh ideas, having created five apprenticeship positions initially and committed to three per year for the next five years.
de Novo Solutions’ exceptional financial growth, underpinned by innovation, client centricity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, positions both the company and Mark as deserving recipients in their respective award categories. To have been shortlisted at this year’s Global Business Tech Awards, is not only hugely significant for Mark personally but is also a great validation of all the hard work and dedication that our team has put into growing the business and shaping it into the amazing success that it is today.
