SAP and our Immersive Journey

“I’m supremely proud of SAP Immersive Journey. It went from being a kernel of an idea in the early days of the pandemic, when the world went into lockdown, to a first-of-its-kind platform at SAP within a matter of months.

It’s everything you could want from a virtual platform: it’s interactive, it’s accessible twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. It brings businesses together and acts as a gateway to industry leaders, thought-leaders and fellow customers, partners and potential employees.

At any one point in time, a visitor can get access to tech solution demos, or dedicated expertise across 25 different industries. Plus, in the last couple of years, it’s turned into a host platform for virtual events, each one dedicated to specific tech solutions or topics: such as the SAP Innovation Forum, the SAP Business Technology Forum and the SAP Sustainability Forum, to name but a few. At each of these events, we share insights and live question and answer sessions are available – all at the touch of a button.

The platform is designed to streamline the visitor’s journey. Each experience is personalised so that you can decide which department or industry you visit. There are engaging videos on SAP’s latest business software solutions, including new artificial intelligence capabilities in SAP’s human capital management system, SuccessFactors. You get to explore every solution hands-on. And there’s a huge library of more than 2,000 success stories.

SAP Immersive Journey is constantly evolving. It doesn’t stand still. Plans include bringing in gamification, so that the platform becomes the business ‘fortnite of the future’, orchestrating challenges that see visitors having to collaborate through play and showcase their scores. There’ll be an end-to-end digital representation of a customer journey that’s been improved and created with the use of artificial intelligence. And teams across SAP globally will be trained on how to use the platform so that they can roll it out to their partners and customers.

The platform is a win-win for both our SAP partner companies and our own sales teams. For the former, if they choose to invest their marketing spend in the Immersive Journey, they receive highly-visible, year-round, brand exposure to anyone visiting the platform. This leads to new business opportunities. For the latter, they can remain up to date on the latest solutions and find the tools they need to drive meaningful conversations with customers and prospects.

SAP Immersive Journey perfectly complements SAP’s over-arching purpose to help the world run better and improve people’s lives, with sustainability at its core. SAP funds the growth of trees and diverse forests to combat climate change and sustain critical ecosystems. For every new visitor to the SAP Immersive Journey platform a new tree is planted by SAP.

From a business perspective, this breakthrough platform has been adopted by SAP’s partners ecosystem and has got a customer satisfaction rate of 92%.

When we first started this project, no one was talking about immersive tools or the metaverse. My team and I were the first at SAP to set the standard for a human-centric, digital, experience. We developed our own technology to bring the idea to life, structured the platform’s content and from there our vision grew. I got the support of SAP, with hundreds of people getting involved. What started out as a humble project was scaled up and has gone on to win the most prestigious employee recognition award at SAP. It continues to make a positive impact on the SAP ecosystem to this day.

I am honoured by this nomination, which underscores the strategic significance of SAP Immersive Journey within the Customer Value Journey. The platform is a testament to our dedication to prioritising customer-centric experiences and fostering innovative business partnerships.

It’s also a reminder that technology supports transformation, when empowered by diverse and inclusive human thinkers & doers around the globe.”
